My Internship Experience at Gohobi

My Internship Experience at Gohobi

Hi! My name is Sandy, and I’ve been a marketing intern at Gohobi from October 2024 to June 2025. As I prepare to wrap up my internship, I’d love to share a bit about my experience.

When I joined Gohobi as a marketing intern, I had just graduated — full of energy, excitement, and a bit of uncertainty about what post-uni life would actually look like. I never imagined my first graduate job would give me so much responsibility, freedom and personal growth.

A Role That Let Me Grow

In a small team like Gohobi’s, every role matters. As a marketing intern, my responsibilities spanned across both marketing and account management. I designed social media posts, wrote marketing campaigns, optimised our website, handled wholesale communications and managed our wholesale platform.

What made this experience even more meaningful was the freedom I was given to explore new ideas. I had room to test different marketing strategies and to see firsthand what worked. That kind of autonomy, especially so early in my career, has been priceless. I wasn’t just watching from the sidelines — I was trusted to contribute, test ideas, and learn from both wins and mistakes.

One of my proudest moments is setting up an new wholesale platform on our website from scratch with no prior experience. At first, it felt daunting and far outside my comfort zone. But with the trust and support of my team, I was able to figure things out step by step. Seeing the platform successfully go live and knowing I had built the foundation for something long-lasting was incredibly fulfilling.

Why I Loved Working at Gohobi

What I loved most about working here is the supportive and close-knit team environment. Even while working remotely, I always felt trusted and encouraged. I appreciated the balance between structure and freedom — I had clear goals, but also the creative space to explore my own ideas and improve how we did things.

Being part of a small team also meant more responsibility, and I truly enjoyed that. It pushed me to take ownership, problem-solve, and grow faster than I expected. Whether I was drafting a marketing email or optimising our website, I knew my work mattered.

Connection to My Roots

One of the things I’m most grateful for is the chance to work at a brand that celebrates East Asian culture. As someone who is born and raised in Hong Kong, it felt deeply personal and fulfilling to share East Asian artistry with a Western audience. This connection made my work feel purposeful.

Grateful for the Start

I’m so grateful to the team at Gohobi for trusting me, teaching me, and making me feel like part of something meaningful. I’m walking away from this internship with more confidence, clearer career goals, and a deep appreciation for small, creative teams doing big things. This experience will always hold a special place in my heart and it’s set a strong foundation for whatever comes next.
