How to Cold Brew Tea: A Step-by-Step Guide

Cold brewing tea is one of the easiest and most refreshing ways to enjoy your favourite blends—especially during warmer months. It brings out a smooth, naturally sweet flavour that’s less bitter than hot-brewed tea. Here’s how to do it right:

Tea-to-water ratio: We recommend starting with a 1:50 ratio (e.g. 5g of tea leaves for 250ml of water). This makes a strong brew, so feel free to adjust based on your taste or experiment a few times to find your perfect balance.

Use room temperature water. Add it to a cold brew bottle or jar, then gently add in your tea leaves. Seal the lid tightly and place the container in the fridge.

Steep for 12–24 hours. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavour. Just make sure to give it at least 12 hours for the best result.

Tips for the Best Cold Brew:

  • Don’t shake the container while it’s steeping—this can cause spoilage, as tea leaves are highly nutritious and sensitive.

  • Store in the fridge for up to 72 hours. After that, the taste may decline or spoil.

  • Once taken out of the fridge, try to finish your tea within 30 minutes.

  • After pouring a serving, put the container back in the fridge immediately and finish the rest within 24 hours.

All our teas are suitable for cold brewing, so feel free to experiment with different types to suit your taste. Just remember: keep it still, give it time, and enjoy the smooth, refreshing flavour of cold brew tea at its best!
