About Kintsugi
At Gohobi, we believe every crack has a story.
Kintsugi (金繕) is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by embracing, rather than hiding, its imperfections. Broken pieces are carefully restored with decorative gold, silver, or natural-coloured finishes, transforming damage into part of the object's history.
More than a repair technique, Kintsugi represents resilience, renewal, and finding beauty in imperfection.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
Prices start from £250.
The final price depends on the size of the item, the complexity of the damage, missing sections, and your chosen finish.
Can I use my item after repair?
Kintsugi is primarily intended as a decorative restoration. Although some repaired pieces may remain suitable for light use, they may not return to their original strength.
Gold-effect and silver-effect finishes may naturally wear over time depending on use and care. We will advise you on the best way to care for your repaired item.
Is it real gold?
Our standard finish uses high-quality gold-effect or silver-effect materials.
Genuine gold powder is available upon request, and pricing will be adjusted accordingly.
