Event information

PART I: Kintsugi Demonstration - Free to everyone

Join us for a short free kintsugi demonstration from 1:50 pm to 2:15 pm. This demonstration is open to everyone and does not require a workshop ticket.

During the demonstration, you will have the opportunity to see the artist from Studio CIRCOLO, a ceramics and kintsugi studio based in Tokyo, introduce the process of kintsugi and demonstrate this traditional Japanese craft.

*A selection of Gohobi cold brew tea will also be served during this session.

PART II: Kintsugi Workshop - Ticket holders only

After the demonstration, you can join our hands-on kintsugi workshop, where broken ceramics are gently repaired and given a new life.

This workshop offers a calm and thoughtful introduction to Japanese craft and aesthetics. Guided by the artist, you will learn the basic process of kintsugi and repair your own ceramic piece during the session.

All ceramics, tools and materials will be provided on site. To ensure the smooth running of the workshop, participants will not be able to bring their own materials.

The adhesives and sealants used in the workshop comply with food hygiene regulations. Natural lacquer will be used for the surface, and for the finishing detail, you may choose between brass powder or tin powder.

Once fully hardened, the repaired piece can be used as tableware.

This workshop is suitable for beginners. No previous experience is required.

What Is Kintsugi

Kintsugi is the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and metallic powder.

Rather than hiding the cracks, it gently highlights them, turning each mark into a story of care, time and renewal.

In our workshop, you will repair your own ceramic piece and take it home in a paulownia wood box, as a meaningful gift for yourself or someone you love.
