Every great tea has a story, this one has a legend. A farmer on Phoenix Mountain grew something so fragrant that neighbours came asking for cuttings. To protect his trees, he fenced ducks around the bush and told anyone who asked: the soil is nothing special, just earth where ducks wander. The name was born from a lie. The tea, of course, is nothing of its kind.

TASTING NOTES

Aroma Freshly baked pastry, dried tropical fruit mix, floral, citrus rind, vanilla.

Taste  Gentle clarity unfolding into layered vanilla and tropical fruit. Pineapple at the forefront, becoming honeyed pastry.

Body  Light to medium, smooth and silky.

Finish  Clean, short. But the aftertaste is long: floral, baked ripened pineapple pastry.

ON THE SLOPE

Mid-estate, gentle south-facing slope. Sunny but no direct wind. Rich surrounding vegetation, relatively fast growth, moisture lingering with a slow recirculating pattern. This gives the tea its restrained, layered aromatic: fruit and pastry notes concentrated rather than diffused. The smooth body and clean finish are signatures of this particular slope.

SPRING 26 - SEASON 1 RELEASE

Harvested spring 2025. Charcoal-roasted. Carefully stored and intentionally rested for one year letting the charcoal mellow, flavours meld together, resulting in a deeper, more rounded taste.

True age is measured in the soil, not the seed.
