WATOJI (L) - Ceramic Japan [Made in Japan]

A flower vase by Ryosuke Fukusada inspired by wa-toji, the traditional Japanese way of binding paper with thread. The form looks like two sheets of paper bound together with Kyo-kumihimo, a braided cord from Uji, Kyoto. It can be hung on a wall or placed on the floor. The cord comes in beige or mint. Large size. Ceramic Japan is a design-led maker based in Seto, Aichi, working with Japanese designers since 1973.
