Crafted in Iga, Japan, this cup brings together timeless contemporary design and one of Japan’s oldest ceramic traditions, with a history spanning more than 1,200 years.

Each piece is handmade by skilled artisans using traditional regional techniques. The speckled dark clay is finished with a soft light grey glaze, creating a beautifully understated contrast between the natural texture of the clay and the smooth glazed surface.

Tiny mineral particles and pebbles naturally present within the Iga clay give the cup its distinctive rough texture and expressive character. These irregularities are an essential part of its Wabi-Sabi beauty, meaning no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Like all Asemi Co. cups, the Iga-yaki version is made in the same contemporary shape, allowing different regional pottery styles and finishes within the collection to be mixed and matched with ease.

Designed for tea, coffee and other everyday drinks, each cup reflects a quiet balance between Japanese craftsmanship, natural materials and modern form.
