夜来香  Yè Lái Xiāng

Jia generation · planted 2000 · terroir age c. 26 years

Named for the tuberose flower. On summer evenings, when the air turns humid, the workshop fills with its perfume during the night-time tossing of the leaves.

TASTING NOTES

Aroma Baked sweet potato, light sweetness. bright floral, subtle ginger. butter, light honey.

Taste  Immediately floral and lively. A citrus edge brings zesty sharpness. Light blossom and gentle ginger add complexity without weight.

Body  Medium, smooth, clean, fluid.

Finish  Crisp, refreshing. Aftertaste runs long: floral, citrus-bright, pineapple cake, grapefruit, blood orange.

ON THE SLOPE

South-facing at the mountain’s midsection. Generous sun, freely moving air. Relatively dry and open compared to the mistier positions on the estate. This openness gives the tea its defining brightness: the floral structure is expansive and outward, the citrus quality sharp and penetrating. Everything is clarity and movement.

SPRING 26 - SEASON 1 RELEASE

Harvested spring 2025. Charcoal-roasted. Carefully stored and intentionally rested for one year letting the charcoal mellow, flavours meld together, resulting in a deeper, more rounded taste.
