Asemi Co.’s Tanba-yaki cups combine a clean contemporary shape with the traditional Shinogi carving technique of Japanese pottery.

Each cup is individually formed on the potter’s wheel and carefully hand-carved by the artisan, creating a distinctive vertical texture across the surface. The result is a refined balance between traditional craftsmanship and Asemi Co.’s simple, timeless design.

The Tanba-yaki collection is available in two finishes: Frost and Turquoise. All Asemi Co. cups share the same signature contemporary shape, allowing different regional pottery styles and finishes to be mixed and matched as part of one cohesive collection.

Designed for tea, coffee and other everyday drinks.

Care Information

Hand wash recommended to preserve the surface and glaze.

Avoid sudden or extreme temperature changes, as these may cause cracking or damage to the ceramic.

Do not use abrasive sponges or harsh cleaning products.

Due to the handmade production process and naturally flowing glaze, variations in colour, glaze pattern, texture and finish are to be expected. Each cup will have its own unique appearance, and these differences are not considered defects.
